Boyfriend’s Donghyun and B1A4′s Sandeul Cast for “The Thousandth Man” Musical

Boyfriend‘s leader Donghyun as well as B1A4‘s main vocal Sandeul have been double cast for the musical, “The Thousandth Man,” for the lead role.

“The Thousandth Man” is a love story about a forgotten love and a legendary gumiho, with an ironical and humorous twist.

This is Sandeul’s second musical after last year’s “Brothers Were Brave” while this is Donghyun’s first musical.

Starship Entertainment revealed that Donghyun blew everyone away during the audition with his vocal skills and steady acting skills.

“The Thousandth Man” will premiere on September 28 in Tokyo.

Performances From “2013 Dream Concert”

The “2013 Dream Concert” was held on May 11, at the Seoul World Cup Stadium, and was the 19th annual “Dream Concert. The event was finally broadcasted last night on Korean television.

As one of the largest annual K-Pop event in Seoul, a total of 22 teams were at the event, including Girls’ Generation,SHINee, BEAST, SISTAR, 4Minute, T-Ara N4, Speed, EVOL, VIXX, ZE:A, Kara, Infinite, Secret, 2AM, ZE:A & Girl’s Day, UBeat, BTOB, Boyfriend, Girl’s Day, Huh Gak, B1A4 and Rainbow. 

Special Stages included ZE:A & Girl’s Day performing “Sea” and  Hyorin (SISTAR) & Changmin (2AM)  performing “When I First Saw You.”

Kara’s Goo Hara, SHINee’s Onew, and BEAST’s Yoon Doo Joon were the hosts of the concert this year.

Boyfriend Holds Free Hug Event in Myeongdong

Rising idol group Boyfriend recently caused all pedestrian traffic in Myeongdong to come to a halt when they made an unannounced appearance with their toddlers, as seen on new variety show “Boyfriend’s Hello Baby.“ 

On this day Boyfriend went on foot to Myeongdong to give free hugs to fans. Although it started to rain, more than one hundred pedestrians gathered to receive a hug from the adorable idols 

During the free hug event, fans were asked to vote for their favorite member. The member who won the most amount of votes was none other than Minwoo. 

After the free hug event, Boyfriend also put on a mini concert for fans by singing hit tracks “I YAH” and “Janus” while toddlers Jungmin and Ilayda also danced on stage with their daddies. 

This episode of “Hello Baby” is scheduled to air on February 1. 

Boyfriend celebrates their 500th day since debut

Boyfriend recently celebrated their 500th day since their debut and updated fans with a friendly snapshot.

Jungmin shared on their official Twitter, “It has been 500 days since Boyfriend’s debut!!!!! We are so happy to receive love from Best Friends <3 Please anticipate Boyfriend as we come back as chic men +_+!! Thank you! We are always loving you <3″, along with the photo above.

Boyfriend’s debut Japanese single ‘Be My Shine’ ranks at the top of Japanese music charts

Boyfriend‘s debut Japanese single ‘Be My Shine‘ has ranked fourth on the Oricon chart the day of its release!

The single is the first collaboration between Korea’s hit composer duo Sweetune and Japan’s greatest lyricist, Matsui Goro. Through their teamed effort, Boyfriend skyrocketed to the top five on the Oricon chart the day of the single’s release in addition to sweeping the #1 positions on Tower Records’singles chart, HMV, Yamano Instruments, and Shinseido Rankings.

Through Oricon Style, the members expressed, “We hope to become a group loved nationally in both Korea and Japan and also hold Japanese tour and dome concerts. Ranking first on the Oricon chart is our goal.”

Boyfriend was previously the subject of much envy when they became the first rookie group to perform at the Budokan in front of a total of 40,000 audience members before their debut.

Continuing on their momentum, the boys will be promoting in both Korea and Japan for the time being.
