Woollim Entertainment Merges with SM Entertainment’s SM C&C To Form “Woollim Label”

SM C&C and Woollim Entertainment, the latter home to Infinite, Nell, and Tasty, will be merging to form a new label-”Woollim Label.”

SM C&C is a subsidary of SM Entertainment, and by merging with Woollim Ent., will be forming the independent label “Woollim Label.”

SM Entertainment will be in charge of the global distribution of the music and other businesses of artists’ under “Woollim Label,” while SM C&C will be in charge of the label’s functions.

With this move, SM Entertainment is on its way to become a major global music company in the likes of Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, and Sony Music Entertainment.

Feel the Melancholy with ZE:A’s “The Ghost of Wind” Music Video

It’s out! The nine-member idol group ZE:A has finally released the music video for “The Ghost of Wind” after teasing fans for so long!

“The Ghost of Wind” is the title track of ZE:A newest mini album “Illusion.” It is composed and written by Double Side Kick. ”Illusion” also includes the track “Step by Step” which is composed and written by member Kevin.

The music video shows the members looking melancholy and pensive, portraying the heartache of only being able to stay by one’s love like a ghost. Despite the sad story of the lyrics, the tempo of the song is fast and upbeat, allowing ZE:A to dance a well-timed and powerful choreography.

 ZE:A will have their first comeback stage on KBS’ “Music Bank” later so stay tuned to Soompi for the updates!

SHINee’s Jonghyun’s Self-Written “Selene 6.23″ Tops Music Charts

SHINee‘s newly released track “Selene 6.23” has been sweeping various music charts.

On August 8, SHINee’s combined official third album “The Misconceptions of Us” was released. As soon as the title track “Selene 6.23″ was revealed, it reached the number one spot on Olleh Music, Mnet, Bugs and Naver Music.

“Selene 6.23″ is an emotional ballad that showcases the SHINee members’ exceptional vocal skills. The sad lyrics are about a person who is in love but not being able to reach her. It is written by SHINee member Jonghyun.

Another new track, “Better Off” is included in the album. It is a mid-tempo pop ballad that beautifully expresses the sadness of a break-up.

Upon the release of the album, Jonghyun tweeted, “Yahoo! SHINee’s new songs in ‘The Misconceptions of Us’ have been released. It’s the combination of the ‘me’ and ‘you’ albums and there are two new songs, ‘Selene 6.23′ and ‘Better Off.’”

He continued to upload a funny photoshopped photo and tweeted, “After looking at the album cover, I feel the art soul?!” The photo contains a scene from the animation “Attack On Titan” with the giant’s face photoshopped into the face that is on SHINee’s album cover.

SM Entertainment to Open “SMTOWN Museum” in Los Angeles

SM Entertainment announced on August 7 that they will be opening a hybrid entertainment arena in Los Angeles. 

The tentative name of venue is “SMTOWN Museum.” SM Entertainment had considered opening a place in Hollywood for locals to experience Hallyu Wave, but after considering the influx of locals and tourists in Korean Town, the agency bought a building in the heart of Korea Town.

The building is located on the corner of Oxford street and will most likely be the location for the proposed “SMTOWN Museum.” 

A representative of SM Town said, “For long term and stable business promotion in the United States, SM Entertainment USA has purchased the building. It will be in the form of a museum with Korean restaurants, entertainment venues, and showcases that use hologram and other media.”

The two decide to watch “Twilight” to be inspired for their photo shoot. They get all giggly and shy when the kiss scene comes on, but that only makes it more fun because Taemin starts to act a little more natural. Like when he gulps in the teenage-boy-with-raging-hormones kind of way during the kiss scene. The most natural and spontaneous act he does during the whole episode is when he tries to show off to Na Eun and ends up kicking a ball to his face. I went back and watched that scene three times because it was just so perfect and so Taemin. Taemin recovers, and after they try to see how close they can get face to face (result: not very close), Taemin reveals his method of giving Na Eun his number. While the gesture is sweet, it puts the responsibility of exchanging numbers in Na Eun’s hands, and even Taemin doesn’t think she’s going to text him anytime soon.

Taemin and Son Na Eun (and Key‘s puppy?) are on their favorite spot: on the couch. The two have fun with helium balloons, but it was all part of Taemin’s plan to get Na Eun to reveal her feelings for him. Then Taemin not so slyly brings up movies and not so subtly asks Na Eun if she ever went to the movies with a guy. I love this couple but the whole “push and pull” game is getting more and more obvious and less and less fun to watch. How many more times will we watch Taemin drill Na Eun about her personal life, get into a fake jealous rage, try to make Na Eun jealous, and then grin as he brings up his mother as the punchline. There’s a system, and the system is only fun when it’s not obvious. 

Infinite Shows Manly Charisma in Individual “Destiny” Concept Photos

Infinite, who is looking toward a July 16 comeback, has released individual concept photos for their new album, “Destiny.” The photos were uploaded onto Infinite’s official homepage, showing off the members’ manly charisma, a change in image from their previous “Man in Love” concept. 

Infinite’s agency, Woolim Entertainment, stated, “The title song ‘Destiny’ is most like Infinite, yet fans will be able to experience a new charm of the group. The music video will also have spectacular visuals that have never been seen before and a high quality.

Recent Photo of Super Junior’s Yesung Revealed on His Twitter

Recently on his Twitter on July 8, Super Junior’s Yesung uploaded a photo along with a message, “Tornado Sung Joon. He visited me before going to the set of ‘I Hear Your Voice.’ Fighting!”

In the released picture are Yesung, actor Choi Sung Joon, and two other unknown men. Choi Sung Joon is currently appearing on the SBS’s popular drama “I Hear Your Voice.” As the two stars smile for the camera, both Yesung and Choi Sung Joon look gorgeous in this photo.

Netizens that saw this picture commented, “Who are the other men beside Yesung?” “I guess Yesung and Choi Sung Joon are good friends,” and “Good looking friends.”

Meanwhile, Yesung is currently working as a public service worker as part of his mandatory military service.

SISTAR Announces “Give It to Me” Cover Contest

Calling all dancers! Hot idol group SISTAR is holding a dance cover contest for their latest hit,”Give It to Me.” and wants you to participate. The group announced the contest with a video with English subtitles through their agency’s official YouTube channel.

To participate, simply upload a video of your dance cover for “Give It to Me” on YouTube and enter the URL atSISTAR’s official Facbook. You can dance as a solo or a group. The application period starts today and ends on July 14 (Korea time). The winners wil be determined by how many likes the video gets and by SISTAR themselves. Comedian Lim Joon Hyuk Criticizes MBLAQ and Then Apologizes

Comedian Lim Joon Hyuk apologized about some comments he recently made about MBLAQ.

Recently on June 5, the comedian posted some thoughts that seemed like complaints about MBLAQ’s attitude while filming his corner “Rising Star” on the gag program, “People Searching for Smile.”

He posted, “After starting my corner ‘Rising Star,’ today’s filming was the most difficult. Today, I realized that the 2PMmembers really tried hard. Today, [MBLAQ] were saying, ‘I can’t do this. I can’t do that’ all the way until filming actually started. I don’t know if they didn’t hear us when we asked them to practice together or if they heard it and forgot. Such super stars they are, huh… G.O worked really hard and well though. This is purely my personal opinion. If anyone sees this, please only criticize me and not anyone else.”

Afterwards, Lim Joon Hyuk deleted this post and apologized.

On June 20, Lim Joon Hyuk posted, “This is gagman Lim Joon Hyuk. I’m posting this because I think I’ve caused a misunderstanding due to my post about MBLAQ.”

He continued, “On the day of the filming, the MBLAQ members came to the set despite their busy schedules,” and “There were difficulties in trying to memorize the script and working together in the very short time that was given but the rehearsal went very well. Even during the actual filming, there were no NGs.”

He said, “I think comedy is something that always leaves you wanting more even after filming ends,” and “After the filming was over, I came home and posted some of the things I felt on Facebook. I meant to share what I felt could’ve been done better in a subjective and humorous way.” He ended with, “From now on, I will try to be more careful with my word selection.”

Kim Woo Bin and Lee Jong Suk Rising into Stardom, Picked as Trugen Models

Kim Woo Bin and Lee Jong Suk have been chosen as the new models for the men’s clothing brand, Trugen.

Trugen has been represented by some of the top actors in the Korean entertainment field such as Lee Byung Hun, Song Seung Hun, Jo In Sung and Lee Min Ho.

On June 18, Trugen reps stated, “It’s rare for a clothing brand to choose two top models. However, each actor has a different charm and we believe that through the two models, the brand can be viewed in a younger and trendier way.”

After starring in “School 2013” together, Lee Jong Suk and Kim Woo Bin have been picked as one of Korea’s favorite bromance couples. They have also modeled for OB Beer together as well.

2PM’s “Grown” Grand Edition Photos Show Six Different Charm

On June 19, 2PM released the Grand Edition to their 3rd album, “Grown,” in which they revealed their self-composed and written tracks. Photos that represent each members’ track have also been released.

Wooyoung‘s “This Is Love” image shows the 2PM member’s soft smile, which suits the warm love song that Wooyoung composed and wrote for the first time.

Taecyeon‘s self-composed and written “Traicion” image shows a strong tango move. Taecyeon’s strong yet sad eyes represent a man in pain.

Chansung‘s “Perfume” image shows him laying on the ground with red rose petals scattered. The warm sunlight on his body and his softly closed eyes represent a man in longing.

Jun.K‘s “True Swag” image shows just that– swag. His casual pose yet intense gaze while surrounded by bare mannequins, boomboxes and LP records creates that certain atmosphere.

Nichkhun sports a white suit and sits in front of a piano for his self-composed and written “Let It Rain.” In the falling rain, Nichkhun lifts his head underneath a red umbrella, which gives both a happy and sad feeling at the same time.

Junho‘s self-composed and written “I’m In Love” image reveals the artist in a chic and sophisticated way.

The “Grown” Grand Edition consists of ten new tracks that all of the 2PM members took part in composing and/or writing. These solo tracks will be performed by each of the members on June 21 and June 22 at their concert.

Andy Is More Concerned About 100% Than Teen Top

Shinhwa‘s Andy recently showed his affections for his two boy bands, Teen Top and 100%.

On the episode of Mnet‘s “Beatles Code 2” that was aired on June 17 the guests included the Shinhwa members along with Teen Top’s Chunji, 100%’s Minwoo and Hyo Eun of Stellar, a girl group produced by Eric.

During the episode, MC Tak Jae Hoon asked Andy, “Between Teen Top and 100%, which team do you have greater feelings for?”

To this, Andy answered, “I like both of them,” which caused the MCs as well as the Shinhwa members to boo him for giving such a standard and polite answer.

Then Lee Minwoo commented, “When I asked, Andy said, ‘Since Teen Top has already succeeded, I have greater affection for 100%.’ He feels the need to take care of them more.”

At this, 100%’s Minwoo put on a big smile whereas Teen Top’s Chunji put on a sad face, which caused everyone to laugh.

Meanwhile, Shinhwa enjoyed great success with their latest track, “This Love,” by winning the #1 spot on various music programs.

Roy Kim Releases MV Teaser for “Love Love Love”

After releasing his first single “Bom Bom Bom” (Spring Spring Srping) in April, Super Star K4 winner Roy Kim is now set to release his first full album this month. A teaser for his title track “Love Love Love” was released earlier today on YouTube.

In the teaser, he seems to be holding a free guerilla outdoor performance of the song. Many people passing by are ecstatic to see him, and begin to follow his performance while recording their own fancams.

As expected, Roy Kim stays with his folk style sound for his title track.  

After releasing the album, he will be going on his first nationwide tour starting July 6 in Busan, hitting four cities in total.

G-Dragon just could not take his eyes off of his pet Gaho‘s doppelganger!

On June 17, sources shared that G-Dragon had a great time filming for an advertisement with a Chinese Sharpei named Laceau. Due to his busy overseas schedule, G-Dragon was not able to spend much quality time with Gaho so it is reported that he loved spending time with Laceau.

The seven-month old puppy Laceau was brought from New York, specially for this advertisement with G-Dragon. G-Dragon stuck by Laceau all throughout the filming. He played with the puppy and said, “Laceau’s eyes look sleepy,” then pulled back the wrinkles on its head and said, “But he’s not sleepy when he’s filming!”

G-Dragon was so captivated byLaceau, he even said, “I think I’m being brainwashed by Laceau right now.”

Inspirits Shut Down Servers in Mad Rush for Infinite’s Concert Tickets

Infinite‘s kick-off concert in Seoul to their first world tour “One Great Step” has been recorded as a sell-out show.

Concert tickets started to go on sale from June 18 at 8 PM and hopeful fans did not hesitate for a moment to purchase them, which caused in a massive server crash. The servers were down for almost an hour and even after the site was back up, tickets were sold out within just minutes.

In addition, as soon as tickets were on sale, Infinite became the #1 searched term on many portal sites, beating the search keyword “Korea vs Iran,” referring to the World Cup qualifier game on that day.

Infinite threw their first concert last year called “Second Invasion,” which was also a sold-out show. They threw an upgraded version of that concert called “Second Invasion Evolution” as well as a concert called “That Summer” to meet their fans.

Woollim Entertainment stated, “We are thankful that so many people showed interest in Infinite’s kick-off Seoul concert for their world tour,” and “We take it that fans are that much anticipating the show so we feel a bit of pressure but we will be showing a whole new show with Infinite’s performance skills and real live singing.”

Infinite’s Seoul kick-off concert will be held on July 8 to July 10 at the Seoul Olympic Park stadium. The tour will continue until the end of the year and the group will visit Japan, China and other Asian countries as well as the USA, South America and Europe.
