Which Celebrity Would You Like a Kiss From on Kiss Day?

June 14 is Kiss Day in Korea, a holiday for couples to have another excuse to publicly display their affections by kissing. To celebrate this couple’s holiday, a research agency that studies social dating surveyed men and women in their twenties and thirties and asked which celebrity they would most want a kiss from on Kiss Day. The survey ran from June 3 to 9, and 1010 people participated in this survey. You can go through the gallery to see the seven men and women who received the most votes.

[Spotlight] Lee Jong Suk’s First Fan Meeting in Taiwan, Part 2

The next activity involved exploring the contents of Lee Jong Suk’s backpack. The MC kept up a running joke stating that Lee Jong Suk was a student in his classroom. The segment even began with the toll of the quintessential school bell. Everyone, especially Lee Jong Suk, was laughing the whole time!

Certain items such as sunscreen, cologne, and body cream were deliberately placed for audience interaction. Lucky fans whose seat numbers got picked were able to go on stage and have an item applied to them.

With each item that was pulled out, the MC scoffed at how strange it was to bring such things to school and how bad of a student the actor was. Of course this required some sort of punishment. For his first “detention”, Lee Jong Suck was had to preform 3 poses from the infamous song “Kiyomi“ aka the “Cute Song”.

And oh boy, was he adorable! He was in top form.

The next punishment involved a little dance number, which of course ended in Lee Jong Suk laughing at his own lack of skills. His dance moves were… unique, to say the least. It was really fun to see yet another playful side of his personality come out!

Lee Jong Suk then got a little break from activities as videos from fellow celebrity friends played on the screen. The well-wishers included Yoon Eun Hye, IU, and all of Girls’ Generation.

Now it was time for the second fan activity. A table was brought out with three different colored boxes. Three fans were randomly selected to come up and pretend to “film a commercial” using whatever they found under their box. Not only did they get to interact with Lee Jong Suk, they even received a signed picture of themselves with him. Pretty cool!

A toothbrush, a motor scooter helmet, and a set of plastic ramen noodles made for a fun time. The ramen noodles were perhaps the strangest, mostly because there wasn’t much to do with them beside awkwardly pretend to eat them.

For the final activity, Lee Jong Suk raffled off some of his belongings to fans. These items consisted of sunglasses, a script, a shirt that he apparently wore to bed the night before, and a pair of red shoes that he used while filming “School 2013.” In addition, each gift came with a picture of Lee Jong Suk holding it!

“High Kick” Sitcom Producer to Start New Sitcom

Producer Kim Byung Wook, who is well known for his “High Kick” sitcom trilogy, is preparing to make a comeback with a new sitcom and it will be aired on the cable channel, tvN.

There’s a lot of interest surrounding the project as it will be the cable channel’s first daily sitcom. It’s also been revealed that the writers and staff who also worked with him in the “High Kick” series will participate in this sitcom. Currently, 120 episodes are planned and it will air from Mondays to Thursdays in the evening.

CJ E&M’s chief producer Kim Young Kyu, who is in charge of the project, revealed his thoughts, “CJ E&M, who has shown new genres and fresh material in the drama department, has been preparing on a daily sitcom for a long time. We plan to carefully combine the skilled sitcom dream team and tvN’s planning ability to create a sitcom fever. Please look forward to it.”

Hyun Bin Looks Manly and Fierce for K5 Commercial!

Wowza! With Hyun Bin’s new advertisement appearance, he surely heated up the hearts of female fans like a running car engine! Hyun Bin has been chosen as the model representing Kia Motor’s new Sedan “The New K5.”

Kia Motor’s had announced the news that Hyun Bin would be the model through a press release on June 2.

A representative of Kia Motors stated, “We have chosen Hyun Bin as the model for ‘The New K5.’ After being discharged from his mandatory military service, he has shown a more mature and classy image. We will release advertisements with the concept of ‘A comeback that the whole world has been waiting for.’”

“Dream High” Actress Ahn Sun Young Makes Wedding Announcement

Ahn Sun Young announced that she’s getting married!

On June 3, MBC’s entertainment news program “A Good Feeling Day” aired an interview with the actress where she revealed that she will marry a man who is three years younger.

“We’re planning to get married this fall,” she said. “We haven’t finalized on the date. We’re thinking that it will be sometime this fall. If it wasn’t for this person, I probably wouldn’t have thought about marriage yet.”

The reporter asked which celebrity he most closely resembled. She answered, “The celebrity he looks closest to is Lee Byung Hun.” She laughed, “His nickname is Bu Byung Hun, which is shortened from Busan’s Lee Byung Hun.”

Regarding children, she answered, “We’re currently talking about having more than two children. Because of my age, it would be great if I could give birth to twins next year. I’m currently preparing to work out and have a healthy body.”

Kim Gura Implies That Kim Tae Hee Is Not Desperate Enough As an Actress

On the May 30 episode JTBC’s “Ssul Jun,” the topic that was discussed was the Mon-Tue drama heroines Kim Hye Soo, Kim Tae Hee, and Suzy. The topic that came up was SBS “Jang Ok Jung, Live in Living by Love.”

Kim Gura made an interesting statement regarding Kim Tae Hee. He stated, “Yoon Yeo Jeong stated that ‘An actor acts their best when they are hungry,’ an actor needs desperation in order to improve their acting. It seems like Kim Tae Hee has other places to go. (He is implying that she is not desperate) If a drama doesn’t do well, she can do CFs.” (commercial films or advertisements)

Kim Gura added, “Kim Tae Hee’s face is optimized for CFs more so than acting. She has very big eyes and full lips.” Kim Gura then proceeded to imitate Kim Tae Hee’s expression and created lots of laughter in the studio.

Kim Tae Hee And Hong Soo Hyun Are Close In Real Life

A candid photo of actresses Kim Tae Hee and Hong Soo Hyun between filming scenes for “Jang Ok Jung Lives in Love” has been a hot trending photo among online community forums.

In SBS drama “Jang Ok Jung Lives in Love,” Kim Tae Hee and Hong Soo Hyun star in rival roles as concubine Jang Ok Jung and Queen In Hyun, respectively.

In the photo, Kim Tae Hee and Hong Soo Hyun are wearing warm parkas over beautiful traditional Hanboks and have their hair done up with lovely, decorative hair pieces. Kim Tae Hee is also seen resting her head on Hong Soo Hyun’s shoulder, an endearing scene between the two actresses who are usually found staring each other down in the palace courtyards or exchanging fierce gazes while making biting remarks in “Jang Ok Jung Lives in Love.”

The ensuing struggle to be the mother of the next successor to the throne and the sole lover of Lee Soon pits the two actresses against one another in the drama constantly, however in real life the two women are said to be actually close. According to sources, the ladies are only one year apart in age and address each other comfortably, often found filming their scenes in a manner that can be best described as chummy. 

Netizens who learned of Kim Tae Hee and Hong Soo Hyun’s friendship commented, “Kim Tae Hee and Hong Soo Hyun are beautiful together” and “They look like really sweet girls.”

Lee Seung Gi Travels Through Time and Brings Pizza to “Gu Family Book” Staff

Lee Seung Gi, who is currently playing the lead role of the half-beast, half-human Choi Kang Chi, bought pizza for the 150 member staff and fellow actors of “Gu Family Book.”

The generous actor bought the meal on May 11 to encourage the staff and actors suffering from overnight filming and early summer heat. Notably in the pictures released, the actors are still dressed in their drama outfits sitting in the forest and eating pizza.  The hanboks and pizza make for a strange contrast.

Lee Seung Gi stated, “I am happy that the drama seems to be receiving as much love as the effort the staff and actors are putting into it. I was more encouraged seeing the staff eat the pizze that I prepared for them with a grateful heart.”

“Gu Family Book” airs Mondays and Tuesdays on MBC. 

Jung Il Woo Sets Up One-Man Agency Haru Entertainment

Actor Jung Il Woo found a new home!

On May 2, Haru Entertainment released a press release stating “Recently seen in dramas and advertisements and is currently actively promoted as a Hallyu star, Jung Il Woo signed an exclusive contract [with Haru Entertainment]. Not only in Japan, but his popularity extends to other Asian countries like China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Thailand.”

Jung Il Woo’s contract with his previous agency Soop Entertainment, which houses Gong Yoo, Gong Hyo Jin, Kim Min Hee, etc., ended in March and many agencies have tried their best to grab such a hot commodity with no luck.

The press release further reads, “He will soon meet with the fans. We will not hold anything back and give him our full support so that he can be the best actor he can.”

Meanwhile, he’s currently going over scripts and contemplating on his next project.

Ha Ji Won Reveals Her Thoughts on Setting Up Her Own Agency

Actress Ha Ji Won revealed her feelings on her recent departure from the agency she worked with for 10 years. Ha Ji Won created her own agency after her contract with her current agency ended.

On SBS’s “Thank You,” which was aired on April 26, Ha Ji Won stated, “I left the agency I worked with for a long time. We were together for about 10 years, and now I will be working all alone. It feels strange. Sometimes I feel scared.”

Ha Ji Won continued, “I feel like I have left the world I knew. It is a new beginning for me. I feel like I have once again become a rookie actress. This ‘Thank You’ trip is to find spring. No, actually, it is spring.”

Song Joong Ki was Offered Kim Soo Hyun’s role in “The Moon that Embraces the Sun”

On the April 22 broadcast of tvN’s “E News,” it was reported that Song Joong Kiwas originally offered Kim Soo Hyun‘s role in the hit drama, “The Moon that Embraces the Sun.” Song Joong Ki declined the role of the Joseon King Lee Hwon because it was too similar to the role that Song Joong Ki had just played in “ Tree with Deep Roots” as King Sejong. 

Song Joong Ki had made headlines with his royal role in the 2011 drama because of his charismatic and powerful portrayal of the young Sejong. The role was even touted as the rediscovery of Song Joong Ki and led to his lead role in the fall 2012 hit drama, “Nice Guy.” Before Song Joong Ki became a nice guy, however, he was offered the role of Lee Hwon for “The Moon that Embraces the Sun,” which he declined. Kim Soo Hyun took the role instead and “The Moon Embraces the Sun” became a huge national hit in the earlier half of 2012, reaching over 40% in television ratings. It also made Kim Soo Hyun a household name with commercials and scripts flooding in to his agency.

Interestingly enough, Kim Soo Hyun is quoted to have stated Song Joong Ki’s portrayal of King Sejong as a model for his role as Lee Hwon.

 

In related news, Kim Soo Hyun will be making a comeback to the big screen after the blockbuster hit, “The Thieves” with “Secretly and Greatly” in June of this year.

Kim Soo Hyun, Lee Hyun Woo, and Park Ki Woong are a “Flower Boy” Spy Trio

The poster and still cuts for the upcoming movie “Secretly and Greatly” have been revealed, drawing attention to the gathering of “flower boy” actors playing the role of spies.

Kim Soo Hyun plays the lead role of Dong Gu who is the village idiot in a small South Korean town by day, but by night, he is the North Korean spy, Ryu Hwan. Kim Soo Hyun is prominently featured in the main poster for the movie as the character of Dong Gu, wearing a green track suit with cheap rubber slippers. Kim Soo Hyun bears a bright but foolish smile on his face that does not correspond at all to his character’s real identity as a spy.

Park Ki Woong also plays a North Korean spy pretending to be rocker who fails at every audition. He sports bright orange hair in the movie to colorfully portray his character. Lee Hyun Woo completes the spy trio, playing the role of Hae Jin who is a highly skilled, cold-hearted spy pretending to be a normal high school student.
